Last weekend i turned on the a/c in the path and it was not blowing any colder than just having econ on 65.

When i turn it to auto sitting an idle, my rpm does go up a little, meaning i think the compressor and all are working and engaging or am i wrong?

Also everything is working as it should be on the dash, and the climate controls and all. I also think it is working but not sure why its not getting cold because i was in a carwash last saturday with all my windows up, and they fogged up before i got out, so i turned the defroster on which im pretty sure uses A/C to take the moisture out of the air.

I tryed recharging it today, but no refrigerant would go in the L port. So im guessing its charged and no leaks. Only thing i can think of now is the existing refrigerant inside is shot, is there a way to drain it?

Dont quote me on anything im assuming alot of stuff the the above paragraphs i have worked on an a/c system maybe once, one of the few things i dont have experience with.

Thanks for help and input!

sorry about the quoting but...
not necessarily since mine used to do the same thing as it appeared to be working but there was something wrong with it and I had to change the compressor.

have you tried turning it off and on several times to see if it cools at least once? I turned mine on and off several times, giving it like a 3 second break to see if it threw cold air, until on one it somehow started blowing cold air. It is a temporary fix that I had to do everytime I started the car

after a month it would never blow out cold air and I had to change the compressor.

Any suggestions for a good rebuilt or aftermarket unit?

Any other tips - something clogged, etc?

Mine was dye checked a couple of years ago & nothing was found amiss but it now doesn't blow cold either.

Swap the A/C relay and fog light relay, maybe the A/C relay is dead. Mine died once.

did you use the kit with an AC pressure gauge on it? low pressure side...
kits work if your lacking cold air...I wouldnt tinker with it too much as you migtht risk compressor burnout...as per google

sad to say take it to an ac tech for a drain and fill...if that doest fix it...you need a new compressor...checking the relay would be a cheaper fix if it is so

Yeah, mine died as a result of that mod for some reason. I believe I had done it improperly and accidentally shorted something out.

Yeah so i walked in my garage, popped the hood, took out my headlight relay, popped the tapped a/c relay in the headlight slot, put the headlight relay in the a/c slot. Started it up, a/c blows cold, headlights work, drl foglights work, and heads and fogs at the same time work.

Not sure why but hey it works. :wtf2:

Great! Perhaps there was some corrosion on some of the relay terminals causing a problem somewhere and by swapping them the corrosion was cleaned. :gotme
