Does anyone know where I can find a used fuel pump and control unit or a tank with a functioning pump still in it. Thanks for your help.

Did you check the classifieds for a part out? I believe some members have used FPCUs for sale in the classifieds.

Also, our member Qship96 recently found a nice deal on a new Bosch fuel pump on Amazon.com..

I keep a spare FPCU and new fuel pump in my Q45 emergency care kit...

I have several FPCUs if you need one. The going rate seems to be about $50...

That sound great. I have a pump that I bought several years ago and didn't end up using. It's been sitting in my garage. Do you think that would be useable? I need to be sure that the pump and FPCU is the problem, when I turn the key I don't hear any noise from the pump and it just stopped running. Like there was no gas getting to the engine. I knew I needed to replace and kept putting it off. 185,000 miles and still love driving it.

Never use a used fuel pump, sock or O ring unless you like repeat labor, failed FPCU, stranding or worse.

Totally agree, really dumb to buy used altenators, fuel pumps or starters. Just trouble waiting to happen later and repeat labor steps!!

A used alternator or starter would definitely be a better idea than a used fuel pump.. The fuel pump is by far the most common issue that Q owners will see, I guess outside of the chain guides on 90-93
