i did a search but didn't see quite what i was looking for... so here goes.

the car: stock blacktop with a custom oil pan/huge radiator/huge fmic in a miata.

its in the shop getting a cage this week and when thats done i want to take it to thunderhill (CA) where it will probably be 100+ degrees.

oil pan probably holds 5qt, but i'm thinking oil cooler since i want to be able to flog it the whole afternoon. i was looking at the tomei oil block

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

but that means remote filter, which, while sexy, means more things to leak. whats the collective wisdom of tomei and remote filter vs the oil filter block adapters? if the adapters are preferable, which is the least restrictive one?

planning on getting one of the setrab's. any advice on sizing for a sr20@1bar? (eventually) http://www.elephantracing.com/...s.pdf

lastly, i want to get good oil temp and pressure gauges. whats the collective wisdom here?

i'm planning on wait and see for an accusump till i see how things go with oil starvation (hence need for good pressure gauge). but if y'all think it would be wise for road course/autox i'll reconsider.

the goal is to be able to get lots and lots of seat time (every weekend i can get away) at thunderhill/sears pt/laguna seca and be totally reliable. and when theres no track openings i'll be autox'ing.

get a remote oil filter adapter off of ebay. go to a local shop to get the AN linesget an oil cooler off of an RX7.

it is huge, and has a built in thermostat, hell you could pass this thing off as a small intercooler.

badass oil cooler for under $200

good call, if you get a cheaper cooler (without a thermostatic switch), you will need a way to control the flow of oil.

hey, that rx7 cooler looks good. i'm going to go visit my car during lunch and see if i can mount that puppy someplace. limited realestate up front...

any input on gauges? programmable warning light would be cool.
