I have searched high and low for the part number for the fill plug for a FS5W71C - KA24DE.MT. No luck at all. I can find the drain plug, but no part number for the fill plug.

Any help appreciated!

Oh, and does anyone see an issue using Teflon tape instead of the pipe thread sealer Nissan call for. I'm not a big fan of locking in a drain plug.

Well on the subject of the part number for the fill plug and the fill plug re-installation.

I did not use the Permatex 51813 thread sealer (not thread locker, but a sealer) and instead used teflon tape. The tape works just as good and cost pennies compared to the 51813. Also, according to the directions for the 51813, a "surface prep" activator is required to ensure a good sealing surface. No need for that with the teflon tape. Assemble and use right away.

The fill plug itself is steel, and the case is aluminum. I used the tape to help prevent galvanic corrosion and "sticking" within the threads.

And no leaks noticed as of yet.

Nothing like talking to yourself! Thanks for updating the thread in case someone else needs to know this at some point.

LOL. Yeah, I hope someone finds this useful. That dang plug was a nightmare to get out.
