I have decided to do my brakes and coil overs as my first modifications to my car (VLSD and sways comming very soon) I want to eventually run Watanabe RS8 rims so Z32 brakes are out. Along with these parts, I already have a new OEM master cylinder, new OEM brake booster and I will be installing SS lines and rebuilding the calipers as well. Thanks for any comments:)http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...58050

I would consider that buying the rear rotors won't help performance unless your current ones are too thin. I think you could save a lot of cash if you just went with the front rotors, pads and fluid all around.

If you get decent pads like the masters, pbr r4s, ebc and change your fluid you will have little to no fade during auto-x, road-racing.

A major factor in braking is the tires you are using. For example, if you are using 205-60-15, you won't have problems. However, if you are using 245-40-18 Hoosier slicks, the tires will be able to have a higher grip threshold therefore pushing the brakes to a higher limit and temp.

So mabye then jsut front rotors (like non-slotted Brembos) and then good pads? I assume by "masters" you mean Metal Masters, correct? Also, where can I get caliper rebuild kits?

If you're wanting braking power, save that $300 and put it towards a 300zx brake swap, thats what most people do.

If not, then those are great.

I have simillar setup on mine. Braking power has improved significantly over stock. However I'd recommend getting either plain or just slotted front rotors. Drilling takes too much weight outta those and they are not big to begin with. Also buy SS lines.

300zx brakes are great but read thread about them shortening stopping distance only several feet over stock.

And foirgot to mention, I got similar setup from ebay for $250. Seller - raceconcepts.net

You should read his post. His Watanabes wouldn't clear 300zx brakes.

Thanks for the opnions guys! I have decided on Brembo vented (not drilled or slotted) front rotors, resurface the rears, Axxis Metal Master pads. and SS lines, along w/ Motul 5.1 fluid. I should be getting all these parts in soon, so I will write up a review of all of them togeather.

I'm pretty sure that's the exact setup on my car - maybe not the pads but 99% sure on the exact same rotors - the guy i bought it from had them on there so that's why i'm not sure. I would recommend it, I can definitly feel a difference between the breaking in my car and my friend's 240s.

you might wanna watch out buying rotors on ebay though. I heard on a thread somewhere that some people package APCish-quality rotors in a brembo box and sell it like its a brembo, since you can't tell the difference. FYI though

Thanks. The seller had 100% feedback and about 200 slaes, so I think I will be ok. Plus, Brembo etches their logo onto the lip of their rotors so I will be able to tell;)Well, all the parts are in route!
