so i got a job. I will be coming into some money pretty soon and my car will be getting most of the cash . im torn between saving up my money and getting a new set of shoes of the metal variety. or should i get some lowering springs. if i get wheels i can adjust my rideheight in accordance with the wheels later down the road. but if i get lowering springs i can get the drop i want now. Im torn help me !

suspension b4 wheels. No need to ride Tonka. plus it just looks dumb. slammed > 4x4 with nice wheels. You'll thank me later for the improved handling too

Aftermarket wheels and stock ride height looks like crap.

everyones right.. both wheels and suspension are the bare necessities, but being slammed looks good even with stock wheels

Why would you waste the money on aftermarket springs? Save for coilovers or ban.

Once you buy the springs your going to need struts, A good set of struts is around $400 + $200 springs = $600Save another $400 and you can have coilovers. Hold off on the wheels and get coilovers.

okay so i am taking that last bit of advice to heart. if i do just get lowering springs on stock struts what would be the negative aspect of things.

Guarenteed that your shocks and struts will blow on lowering springs....also your car will still have fender gap even w/springs....just save up and do it right the first time

you should be able to grab some coilovers with your nice job money anyways! its well worth it

okay i see now. what would be the life expectancy of the shocks and struts after i did this. im just trying to learn. im polly gunna get coilovers.

That depends on alot of things... Stock struts though, I'll say 6 months, give or take.

It just isn't worth it at all. Suspension is not something to cheap out on either way.

Church..............take in to account how old the car is and if these are from factory shocks and struts I give it less time before they blow on you....imho get yourself some nice entry cooils megan,d2's,tein (dont really care for these though) or something along those lines....if you want something nice get stance, bc, pbm or something like that....for an example my buddy had megan springs and kyb's and when we went to switch them out for coilovers (it happens eventually haha) they were blown and he had them for only a few months and maybe 3 events max
