Hey yall, as in the title I need opinions of what I should do with my car first. As of now it runs great and i have changed all fluids, etc. etc. and it is in good shape so far. So here goes.... -Of course I would love to have the car manual, personally it's kinda borin with an automatic. But all i've heard from family is that it will cause problems, and all I've heard from friends is that it will be great.

-Second is a paint job, it really does need one but it's not deathly bad.

-Third is wheels/tires, just to give the car a little look from it's factory state.

-Fourth is suspension upgrades, blah blah blah all that stuff.

Thanks in advance

Edit: accidentally pressed enter so i forgot to add Paint Job and Suspension..sorry haha. Just add if you think i should get those.

well if u do it urself u can do a 5 speed swap for 300-700 depending on miles/condition...or 1k-1500 if a shop does it...u can get coilovers for 700- up...u cant really in my opnion get good tires/wheels for just 1k but u can if u go the used route...u could just get lowering springs and some good struts...it all depends on what u want/like doing...but id do 5 speed..i changed mine over for 1k..there was 60k on the transmission when installed with a centerforce stage 1...just giving u some ideas good luck

The whole 5 speed swap...I did hear some bad things...like it messing up your gas mileage...and some other things...but I asked people who already did it and they had no problems. If you get it done professionally there shouldn't be any serious problems...if none at all.

If that were my car...i'd work on performance, suspension, interior stuff first. Then i'd work on the exterior.

Thanks yall, yea I was thinking of doing it myself,( the 5 spd swapp), but a shop will do it for me for 850 + parts, bringing it to around 1300, and they are well known for doing a good job.

I'm in Columbia, SC and I have done a 5 speed swap in my vert.

With the right tools, it's really not that big a deal. More important is making sure that you do the wiring right for the top.

There is a salvage yard here in Columbia that has all the parts you would need for probably about 400.

PM me if you want more information etc. I am in Charleston every now and again to see family.

Definitely 5 speed swap first. I'm upgrading my suspension setup right now and I'm thinking that I should have done 5 speed swap first... You'll need more money for the suspension than 5 speed swap.

I would recommend the transmission swap if you can find a reputable shop. We all know how wonderful the auto trans is - with the shift problems, slush-o-matic feel and great throttle response. If your auto is still working ok, you can always sell it on e-bay or on here. There are people that actually want it (don't know why, but to each their own). Most bang for the buck and opens up options for other power upgrades. Just a thought. Just make sure the shop you use knows all the parts needed. I've been using the info listed on here and have been compiling parts. I have the biggest portion already and quite a few of the smaller ones, but I'm swapping the motor and trans at the same time. Good luck in your adventure,
