I am going to strip, fix the rash, and repaint my 5Zigen wheels. I have a dilemma on what color to make them. Any thoughts? My S14 is currently tomato red, but will eventually be painted a darker red. Maybe satin black, light silver, a combo? My wife says to go chameleon purple/green that changes colors. I just can't decide.

Here is what the car looks like now.

This.

Or maybe bronze/gold.

The purple/green would look plain silly.

by the time you've sanded them enough to paint, you'll probably be pleased by the look..

i've got a red car, and i ended up going with a royal bronze for now, but if i were to repaint them i'd choose something that actually complimented red. so, the opposite side of a colour wheel. which should land on blue or green.

you probably know that there are an unlimited number of colours, so you're really not limited by the colours that compliment red.

whenever i plan on painting my rotaz, i'm going to go to oreiley's and have them make paint for me, but if you're not trying to go that in depth yet, i'd just check oreiley's, hell even walmart for some interesting shades.

also i think you should go with something slightly low key unless you've got stupid power. just take your time, you'll find something nice

good luck

I'd say go with bronze/gold always looks good with red. I'm also painting my 5zigen wheels tomorrow too lol. I'm goin white, hopefully it looks as good as I imagine it.

white on white, you can go a little stranger than that.

i never have been big on crazy colors without a really fat lip, If you want something like lime green or a bright color you need a big shiny chrome lip to set it off.

Just go with black or bronze or something easy like that.

You guys don't need bright colors and knockoff wheels painted in strange combinations to attract attention.

Build a nice car and your car will do that itself.

there really are an unlimited number of colours. just because you go with green doesn't mean you have to go with lime green. and just because you go with some crazy colour doesn't mean the entire wheel has to be that colour.

next time you're at walmart actually look at the spray paint. you should be able to find a colour other than bronze, black, or grey that actually sort of compliments the colour of your car.

perhaps just paint the lip of a wheel or two some slightly on edge colour.(i like soft colours). you can always sand it off and try again.

with some decent prep work you could paint four reasonably sized lips with one can of paint. of course you might wanna pick up an extra can to be safe.

i completely agree, but you don't have to pick the same five colours as everyone else.

you don't have to be gawdy to be creative.

Just don't paint it a matte finish. My wheels are matte bronze, and don't get me wrong, they look great when theyre clean. Its just a royal PITA to keep them clean.
