Hey everybody

I need some opinions on my sr buildup. My car is currently getting built back in New Brunswick Canada and Im all the way in Yellowknife NWT so I can't really supervise the build up.. I have over 16k invested in it and I am wondering if I chose all the right parts to daily drive an expected 400whp car. Yes I know a 400whp daily driven sr20 is crazy, don't need to point it out.

Mod List

S13 Sr20detDownforce Performance Custom front mount IntercoolerHKS Hi Power ExhaustCustom 3,5" DownpipeWalbro 255lph fuel pumpGreddy RASBlaast Performance Custom T31/T04e 60 trim turbo (Rated 500hp+)Apexi Power FC with CommanderApexi Boost Controler (PFC)Bully X stage 3 clutchCometic Head GasketArias PistonsEagle RodsCustom Top mount ManifoldKoyo RadARP Head StudsHKS Stage 2 264 cams with valves springsHKS SSQV BOVTomei 2 way LSDApexi 720cc injectorsTial 40mm External WastegateNew oem water pump and timing chainNew main bearings and rod bearingsand other little nic nacs...

So would this setup be a reliable 400whp daily driver?...Or will I need extra parts? if so be my guess to point some out

Thanks in advance

Apexi FTW. Hybridynamics and Mazworx run Apexi in there drag cars with way over 40psi of boost. Also a 400whp 240 isnt crazy to daily drive. Power is only there when your giving alot of gas. You drive it easy and its no big deal. I drove mine this year in 6" of snow.

You should be putting down well over 400whp if you want. I don't know your turbo, but it sounds like a much better set up than mine and i'm putting down 345.

Those are the only things I'd be timid/unsure of.

Kinda curious why your build went with an oddball turbo (not that it's bad) and some no name clutch...

And cometic sucks. I'd def get your builder to swap that out before you go to far involved.....

Yeah I know its an odd turbo choice...at first we we're going with the gt3071r but then a company in Montreal which was my turbo supplier could build me a custom turbo that surpasses the gt3071r and its a mix of a Garrett and Turbonetics housings with balance turbines and the turbo is ported and polished which they simply called custom t31/t04e .60 trim. They claim it spools as quick as the gt3071r and can produce over 500whp..but I don't want to run that high yet. Yeah Ill probably call my mecanic to switch de HG for an apexi. Thanks for help

And for the ones that think the Bully X Clutch is a no name clutch well do a bit a research...Probably you guys don't get those in the states buts its a really underated clutch company form Canada and my buddy has a 700hp Skyline and he said it was better the old exedy he had on. They can build custom clutches for specific applications so we decided to get one specificly made for the car

Hey did you get your build done? If so how is it? My friend is using a lot of the same stuff you did for your motor and I just want to know if everything went OK.

I was always told that it is knock that kills head gaskets. With a good tune and ARPs there is no reason for a HG to blow.

No the build is not completed...Everything is installed and the car runs but needs to be dyno tuned (Car running too rich..shoots flames out the tail pipe)...It should be done around the 3rd of september or a lil later.

The only parts i added was a suspension modification ( Tein Coilovers ).

The guys that did the swap are aiming for 500whp on C12 or C16 race fuel (400whp on pump 91). If hp goal is not met they will add more parts to reach it but it should be possible with current parts. I'll let you guys know the outcome of the dyno pulls. Ill post the dyno run on youtube shortly after its done!

cool, sounds great so far

if you dont reach you're HP goals, complete your the suspension and tighten chassis rigidity. so all the power you have goes to the ground.

Like the Teins you just bought, multi link arms, nismo power brace, struts, and es Master bushing kit.

shouldn't need aircraft grade head stubs to justify the use of a crappy head gasket.
