Car: Not a 240 =) Thinking of getting one again...

Post

Basically, I need everyone's opinion on what I should do with my car.

It was in an accident and the front end of the car is all damaged, no frame damage or anything serious like that, just need to get new hood, bumper, and fenders.

Now I was thinking of what I should do with the car. Ill be going away to National's Guard in like 6 months and my insurance will have to be renewed in next month... AND.. Im very tight with the money at this time... so... please also consider that. Thanks guys. What should I do with my car....

well if you can live without a car for 6 months ( or have another one to drive) I would just sell it since you're leaving anyway. Is it driveable? if it is, just try and get some junkyard parts and try fix up. I'd rather spend a few hundred on parts then have no car to drive since you probably won't get enough for it to buy anything decent

I'll be going away for only couple of months.. and plus even if i do sell it, i'll be buying another 240sx when i come back anyways.

And I dont need the car at all for my daily life. Only want to drive around for fun.

Ditch it. It's gonna be a money pit.

Buy a used G35 when you get a few paychecks under your belt....

Your insurance may go up with teh accident if u drop it.

Probably best to try to drive it in bad shape especially in NYC many cars have dents.

Try to hammer it out as best as can and then drive it.

Fred...:)

I say if you're gonna donate it, then donate it to a NICO member who wants a project s13... make him pick it up (thats your free towing), and figure some way to scam the tax break. Haha hold a constest that involves naked women somehow to choose who gets the car.

Hmmmm. Well, after spending a couple of grand on body work and a good paint job, you're still going to have $1000-$1500 car when it's done. Unless you plan to make it a project car when you return from your military commitment, I recommend selling it "as is" or donate it to charity. Then buy another S13 when you're ready and can afford one.

Good luck
