So what is your question? What parts do you want to know about? (It's Infiniti btw, not Infinity)

Lol...Sorry about that. im not good at spelling and i dident have the question on there.

I was wondering what kind of upgrades i should put on the car.. Its my first car and i want it to be a sweet ride.

this morning i was trying to take the whole air intake out and it was a *****.Am i able to put a cold air intake on there?

i was also lookin under the car last night and i was wondering if it is possible to put in a double exaust with new headers and all?

sorry about all the questions i wanna get it fixed up before school starts back again in august.

and just one more question. Are there more websites for Infiniti J30 owners? Other than car domain?

Thanks

The exhaust is about as good as its gonna get from the factory , although a few folks have removed the resonator.. and that nut Diamond took out the cats .. lol Theres a ecu upgrade that a guy here has that will put about 20 extra horses on the ground .Many debate the cold air intake here . The factory is tuned to the engine .. hard to beat .Most CAI add ons inhale in the engine compartment . thats not what I call cold air

If you are talking about radio/dvd or wheels/tires then sure. If you're talking about performance upgrades, there's not much you can do. The J is the red-headed step child in the aftermarket performance world.

I have seen a few CAIs for sale on ebay and the like.

I've often wondered if the Stillen 300ZX headers would fit on the J but all of my research says they won't and that would be an expensive experiment to try it out as they are about $600 iirc.

The J does already have true dual exhaust even though the two pipes join into the one rear resonator/muffler thing at the rear. Some people on here have chopped off that resonator with good results.

Don't really know of any others besides there and here.

What year and mileage is your J? You might want to spend some money on general mant. stuff cause when stuff breaks on the J it tends to be a little more expensive than most other cars to fix it.

Things like:oil filteroilair filterfuel filterspark plugstransmission flushcoolant flushbrake fluid flushrear differential flushpower steering fluid flushinspect/replace brake pads/rotorstiming belt/tensioner/waterpump replacement

Hey there new guy!

Anyways Here is a list of things that i have done for my car.

95 j30

Removed Resontator in the rear ( weight reduction, about 30 lbs, and makes the car sound great)

I made a cold air intake that feeds into one tube, i have a thread on it somehwere, ill do a search and get thos epics for you,

Next i have a Un-ordthadox underdrive pully. i have not installed this yet because i just dont have time right now, i have belt #'s, and when i do install ill make sure to post some more pics.

lastly and my latest upgrade = the FIRST Robert Bowen custom tuned ECU. i find more pull in the mid range RPM's and overal is a pretty sweet addition. i still need to write a review on that aswell

For cosmetics tho, i also repainted my front bumper, and installed some HID lights into my Projector housing, makes the car look alot better at night. Id also recomend getting anew pair of wheels.

well welcome to the site, and if you have any wuestions, let me know.

ps. you can also install the Stillen Cam gears to advance the timing on your cams if you feel like spending a good $400 for just one set. And as for exhaust,m trust me just remove the resonator and add some pipes out the back, it will save you $800 and you will only gain a few HP from a full aftermarket exhaust.

Peace,

andy

It goes headers, cats, 2 seperate mufflers, into 1 resonator, out the tailpipe.

resonator/muffler - tomato/tomato

The people on here that say they are taking off the resonator are taking off what that page shows as the rear muffler.

Actually i do beleive that a resonator actually makes a tinking noise when you tap it as a muffle does not make a full noise, its packed with stuff...

wow i suck at wording things.

I thought the J was 3.9:1 instead of 3.55:1.

It's not fart can sound but it does seem to drone a bit at the lower rpms. I haven't driven with it much yet but I don't know if I can live with it like that.

It's a little louder but not near what I thought it'd be. The only annoying time is at low rpm's.

The N/A 300Z rear differential has a final drive of 4.09:1. Nismo supposedly makes a gear set that is something like 4.3:1. I called the only place around here that will work on rear difs and they want like $400-$500 to put different gears in not including the gears.

I've priced and found a couple of N/A 300Z rear difs for about $350 and it seems that they will drop right in. (In the earlier J's anyway)

I'm in the middle of getting my injectors rebuilt/cleaned. I've got the intake manifold off (what a job) and have already sent the injectors off. I'll see what kind of difference that makes. I was having a lack of power once the car was warm. Also was hard to start once warm.
