need new tires

What would be the biggest size tires I couls get on my stock '04 xterra SE/SC, and what would you guys reccomend, I cant decide weather I want to go for a more off road look/performance or if i should stick with normal street tires. Any suggestions?

i have an 01 with 30x9.5 firestone destination m/t's and they fit perfectly. no rub at all. i think i had less than 1/2 an inch clearance
