Hello,

I just purchased a 2008 QX56 with 49K. I hate the Hankook tires on them.
I am looking for a tire that can perform well in the mountains, beach and on the road. However, I like a quiet ride and good gas mileage.

What do you recommend?

First off, WELCOME TO NICOclub! The staff is thrilled to have you as a new member of the QX56 Forum!

The Hankooks are not the tires that were on there when it was brand new, the Michelin Latitudes were OEM, and they pretty much suck. I recently installed Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors on my 2010 Armada (basically same vehicle as yours, exact same tire size). Check out my thread here: new-tires-for-20-nissan-armada-t537627.html

I know they are expensive, but they are totally worth it! I love them! I believe there is still an $80 rebate on the set right now. :dblthumb:

I've had Nitto Terra Graplers on my QX56 for the last year and these have been awesome so far. Nice agressive look but not loud at all. Great in snow and rain. I think these were about $205 each through Discount Tire Direct. I went 1 size larger but had to remove my front mud guards as they were rubbing a bit but removing the guards has no negative visual appearance like I thought it would. These were definitely a good pick for this truck. The ones Timmbo mentioned are even better but are pretty pricey, quite a bit more than mine. But if you have the money, get the Goodyear Silent Armours. Those were a bit out of my price range.

I really considered the Terra Grapplers, but the hang up would have been that they have no tread warranty, and they were not available thru my Nissan dealer. On my Silen Armors I was able to get an $80 rebate and I sold my old tires on Craigslist for $200.
