Need new Remote - 99 QX4

My friend's brother just died and she inherited his black 99 QX4 and needs a new remote. Tried to get the FCC number off the back but couldn't read it. Was going to get it off ebay but not sure. Any of you experts have any ideas for a non-QX4 person to help? I suggested she take to a local dealer who should be able to tell her which one to get without buying it from them. TIA

Have you tried a good loupe? I know that there are two different FCC numbersfor the '01, and they do not interchange. Of course, I have the rarer one.
