Hey I just installed all new airride on my Q and with the new shocks forgot that the ABS sensors didnt come out. I need to know where to find some new ones for a 97 Q45 with the harness that goes just inside the engine bay.

Thanks in advance.

Aweosme man. Ya when you change the front spindals the sensors are pressed into the factory spindals and cannot be removed without breaking them.

What is around the spindle? Do you mean the serrated ring ? Those are not the sensors. The sensors are mounted near them and are small electronic devices that "read" the serrated rings as they turn or cease to turn. Look for two wires ending at the small device/sensor

I can confirm that was true on my J30, I tried everything short of a hacksaw to get the sensor off the strut.

No the sensor is pressed into the bottom spindal part of the strut just as you expained. Its plastic and will not come out without breaking it.

Yeah, but they cant come out remember, so trying to get them from a parts car wont work.

Not to belabor the point but according to my FSM the ABS/TCS sensors are removal by simply removing a 10 mm bolt, right next to it, and pulling the actual sensor out of it's hole.

The rotor sensor "serrated ring" can also be removed from the spindle with a press and pressed onto a replacement rotor. Having done this sensor removal work before I did not have to use anything other than a 10 mm wrench open or closed.

If that is not what you have disregard my post.

In theory yes, but lets put it this way, the sensor is 21mm in diameter and the hole it sits in is 20mm in diameter. It dont come out....

I finally said fack it and beat one out with a hammer and 3/8" extension, and busted the hell out of it in the process.
