Help! I pick up my G35 coupe next week, and I want to immediately boost the HP to around 325 or so. What is the most efficienct way to do it without totally ruining the long term reliability of the engine? Turbo? What kit should I buy? What about reprogramming the ECU? Doesn't that void the warranty?

do research on http://www.my350z.com . that is the answer.

currently for 325 whp, a blower is the more reliable way of doing this. vortech is a good bet, stillen is always quality and warranty (but you have to replace or cut your hood for the stilen)

For those you are talking 6000.00 installed/tuned.

greddy twin turbo with the boost dialed down is another excellent option, but carries a 10,000 dollar price installed/tuned

good luck.

ATI Procharger is the cheapest way but you better know what you are doing with them. Their kit is not very complete

Properly tuned the blowers willl give 370 rwhp, the TT can give 450 rwhp on a stock engine/pump gas

Thanks for the link to do the research. I appreciate it. Wow. I wasn't quite prepared for that kind of price tag. I guess I expected that there was some ECU programmer out there who has it down and charges $1500 or something.

Learning, learning, learning.. .

Yeah, unfortunately the G is not a cheap car to tune. Technosquare claims that the ECU upgrade can get 30-40hp for about $500 if I am not mistaken. It has been mentioned in several posts here. Any type FI is gonna cost over $5,000.

All retuning ecu can do is remove what ever amount of factory safety was built in for long term reliability of engine!Nissan use to back off 10%. Really depends on how many seconds you wish to sustain increased power as the oem cooling system [and oil] hasn't much reserve. A properlyly designed low boost Nox [around 50 HP shot] can met you $1500 price criteria with lots of EXTRA safety devices to avoid the chance of something going wrong..........by doubling the usual basic cost.

Right now the Techno ECU is not ready yet for the 2004 model. I think later this summer.
