Im trying to get a KA24DE right now for my 93 240 because I recently blew my engine. Its kind of a long story but if you like to read here ya gohttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=103521Im extremely short on cash and have been bumming rides for the past 2 months and my life has gone to **** since then. I need to either sell my 240 or get it fixed, and selling it is my last resort, I love this car. Im hoping theres a mechanic here in VA somewhere that won't charge too much to swap out my engine for another KA24DE. I don't have the tools or the shop or else I would try myself. I can get it pulled anywhere here in VA, so please anyone willing to help me out whether its knowing a mechanic or you are one yourself, please let me know. I can probably do 250 cash upfront but thats pushing it since im high school student, part time job, and without parents. Like I said, if you can do the swap, I have the motor. Thanks all

Its called AREA AUTO PARTS. YOU TAKE I-95 NORTH AND EXIT AT #85. THEN FOLLOW SMALL ROADS.

OPEN THE YELLOW PAGES, THEYARE THERE. GIVE THEM A CALL AND ASK FOR DIRECTIONS.
this is my reply to your other old thread. Look at yellow pages for area auto parts.

Also theres a mechanic at the intersection of Three Chopt road and Pemberton road. Go and see him, and ask for a price.Off broad street turn onto gaskins road, turn left onto three chopt road, and next intersection is the pemberton+three chopt.

I remember your post, I called and I believe an engine from there would be 500 for a high mileage engine and 900 for a lower mileage one. That pretty much made me give up all hope for junkyards. I'll try and get ahold of that mechanic though, thanks alot.

Im going to try Area Auto Parts again, can't find the number for it though its not listed. Same for the mechanic, If I could get numbers it would be alot easier considering I don't have a running car. I just need to get prices, so driving out there would be alot to ask of friends for just that. Thanks

Also I would try to post on Lookoutdrift.com's forums, they are mostly around VA. There's gotta be someone around you that can help. I know some ppl in NC that might do it, but its a haul to get up there, unless you could bring the car down here.

Seriously, there's no one in the area who can help this kid out with a KA24 of some kind?

Did you post on all the other forums too? (sacrelige, I know...)

There have to be engines around, $900 for a KA is insanity. There have to be people who can help you install it.

Hell, I have no idea how to do it, but I'd help you, if I wasn't all the way up here in DC.

Hey thanks man. I don't have a garage or tools so we probably wouldn't get much done. I didn't even think about other forums. I'll try a couple I know, thanks again

Also, when my vehicle was dead in the water, I picked up the phone and called every damn number i could find.

Every store i went to I asked questions, and they pointed finger somewhere. And i asked them and they told me some other name or number., after a week of search i found the whole rear end that i needed.

So every store you go to, Pep boys, autozone, etc.. ask ask ask lots of questoins, where can i find an engine, name, number etc..

P.S. also i remember theres a place called imports or import cars, in midlothian. Just ask any store they might know about it.

If you want to pull it yourself, there is a junkyard up here that only charges $150 for an engine no matter its size or specs. I am assuming you can re-use your transmission.

The trick is you have to drive almost to Baltimore, but only about a 2 hour trip for you.
