Need Ka24de Help.

I have a Ka24de. It idles fine, but when I tap the the gas it chokes and dies. I can full throttle it and it will stumble for a second then rev up but anything less than full it chokes and dies. The spark plugs are brand new. I checked the distributor it is all lined up where it should be when I am at TDC. I've used two different MAFs and it didn't change anything. I'm thinking maybe cam timing is off? But I'd like to rule out other things before I try and correct a timing issue. If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Check out the catalytic converter. Had a similar problem and it was the catalytic converter. Worth a look. 4 bolts.

There's no exhaust on the car. It is just open header. Could that be the problem?
