Hello.

I am starting to learn some stuff about tuning for my KA-T project and a friend gave me one ECU to start learning and making mistakes away from my car's one.

It comes from a MAF wiring mistake (duh) and after checking the components involved in this I was able to identify just one damaged component: the diode labeled as D119 (the white bubble one near to the harnes connection).

While removing this component to find any mark or identification the could give me an idea of its ratings, the diode broke in half at the minimum force made... it was really fried. Anyways, checking the remanent parts of the broken ceramic covering was fruitless as no single model number was found.

Can somebody tell me which kind of diode I can use as replacement or the ratings of one strong enough to withstand the current that pass through it?Also, is it a normal rectifier diode or a zener one?

Thanks a lot.

Did you hook up the signal to +12V to cause the diode to fail?

If so, it is most likely a zener diode somewhere between 6-10V.
