i have a 93 240 and i am needing some ideas on some mods that i can do....i would like to order my body kit in the next week or so and i need to be able to spend some money under the hood while i am at it so any suggestions would be a help....i am not wanting to spend a ton of money just yet so cheaper ones are better.

then decide what youre doing with the car?(which motor?, drag racing? drifting? auto-x?)

then pic the parts that you like, but make sure you dont get ripped off.

most people do intake/exhaust first. or suspension

i would go backwards ywp. get it fast first, so u have a sleeper more or less, then do interior-function only, dont paint door panels! then get a kit and through some susp work in there somewhere

ok now that i know all that stuff what kind of headers and intake would you suggest....and if you do know what kind you would suggest then try to give me the price range on it....there is no place around here that even works on my car let alone sells anything for it so i will have to go and order it all off of the net so i need to have a range to know what i am gettin into ....i want to be able to race it...i already do a lil street racing and am pretty succesful at it with the factory stuff....but i need that lil bit of an edge and since i cant yet afford the turbos i need some easy stuff

well seeing as you don't know what direction your going with the car i'd stick to mods that you can use in almost any setup

for an intake you can jump on ebay, you can get a cone filter and maf adapter for between 10-20 dollars

if your planning on turbo charging the car or swapping engines than i wouldn't bother buying headers now seeing as you'll have to replace/sell them later

a good cat back exhaust is always a plus, you can get a full exhaust or you can save money and just buy a muffler and get custom 3" exhaust pipe made for your car(same thing just not name brand and mass produced, most times custom is best)

an 18 psi nismo radiator cap will raise your cooling effect in turn protecting your engine and helping power production you can get one for $30 on ebay

some websites of interest:

http://www.optauto.com http://www.nopionline.com http://www.cyberauto.com http://www.wholesalehyperformance.com http://www.importperformanceparts.net http://www.hotshot.com http://www.240sx.org http://www.projectsilvia.com

thats bout all i can think of right now, check out those websites and think about it, make sure to plan ahead, don't waste money on mods that you won't need later. good luck

Oh yea I heard that a drift kit, along with a weld on muffler, and GTR badges should give me about 400 hp right?

Seriously though, what companies offer some good cams for descent money. I dont want nothin cheaply made cuz thats just a waste of money. Please no APC ****.

jim wolf and PDM cams are both insanely good for the ka, but you really need an ECU to get the best performance gain from them.

you dont need a polish until you have a seriously tuned NA engine - high compression pistons and heads, conrods, bearings, valves, things like that. otherwise its just a waste of $900.

what kind of money are you willing to spend on the engine performance issue? instead of getting a body kit, you could afford some turbo power. there's really not much that will boost our naturally aspirated engine. you can get small upgrades that will squeeze the last drops of power from it, but that's all you are really doing....squeezing that last bit, not actually adding power.

Yea I finally the light and took ronin's drift kit advice. Let me tell you the honeys were all over me. I noticed a substancial increase in power when I added all the badges, stickers, and a fart can. From then on its been gravy.

4felix20 I suggest that you buy one. It would change your life as it has changed mine. Trust me you cant go wrong with that drift kit. It works wonders.
