need hhelp with charging

yeah well im not sure how to explane this problem all that well but i will try... i noticed that my car started to get hard to start up and i figured it had something to do with the charging system. Its wired every time i would hit the breaks my electronics would cut off and then turn back on within a 2second delay... but when i gave it gas and hit the break at the same time it would not do it.well i figured it was the alternator cuz my lights where dim and it started to get real bad. at one point i would hit the gas and have it floord and the car acted like it wanted to cut off.( it had no power even floored it would not move or rev) so i started to take suff apart to get to the alternator, and the tensioner bolt was gone so i replaced it and put tension back on the belt, charged the batter up and cranked the car it ran fine, but it still did the break thing. cut the car off and the battery was dead and car would not start back up. so i was for sure it had to be the alternator.. so i took it off and got it bench tested and all 3 places i took it to said it was good.. so im thinking it has something to do with my wiring. do u guys know where i could start looking for the problem... or what do u all think could be wroing??sorry fpr the long post but i need all the help i can get.

check all your connections for the battery cables to start.

well i hooked it all back up tonight and it ran fine untill the battery wentyt dead, and we jumped it off and while the jumper cables were on it it ran fine but as soon as we took them off like 5 seconds latter it would start to die? im thinking its the alternator... the car would not run when we took the batery cable off and if im right the alternator should run the car with the batter disconnected..right my friends car did and his is a 98 240

yes it should run without the cables hooked up to the battery. if your alt tested good I am wondering if you have a blown fuse for the charging cicuit?

yeah im getting a new altornator from my friends ka and it worked and i changed the Alt fuse too so i hopw that this will fix it
