Need help with Wireless Router

What i have right now is my main computer, mine and my wife's COMPANY issued laptop's..

I wana be able to have wireless internet on all 3I wana be able to have printing capabilites from both laptops... Basically, if im in the kitchen surfing the web or whatver, i wana be able to hit the print button and have that page print from the printer where my main computer is..Also if i can access the main computer FROM both laptops...

If all this IS possible from one devise, then thats great. If not, then the main concern is the wireless internet and printing capabilites from the 2 laptops TO the main printer..

Any comments..??

Share the internet with a wireless router to all 3 computers (it'll have a wired port for your main box)

Share the printer on your main computerConnect to that printer from the laptopsBingo, presto print sharing and internet access !

make sure the workgroup name for all 3 computers is the same, otherwise you won't be able to share the printer.

Well, im still lost cause I dont know what to buy....

Is the Wireless router gonna do all this or is there a SPECIFIC model router that i need to look for..??

I recomend a linksys wireless router. Something that supports both b and g. When setting it up be sure to enable some WPA encryption, and hide the broadcasting SSID so the punk niegbor kids dont get any clever ideas.

Does the printer have a wireless radio on it?

Don't forget Wireless PCMCIA cards for your laptops... unless they're pimp enough to have them built in

Ok i went out and purchased that WRT54G router and made it WEP secured with the 128 bit 26 digit encryption code or whatever the F that means...

I think that should make it so that they CANNOT access my dsl right..??

well, all you need is to turbo it, add a body kit, add some gas and away you go!!!

actually what you want to do is install the router software on your main computer. This computer, for sake of easy, should be always connected to the router via the USB Port. With this computer you will be able to set your router settings, access your printer from any computer in your network and talk to your 'Honey's' laptop.

Anyway, set the name of the network on all 3 computers to the same name. IE: My network's name is Graphfixz. So I configured all 3 computers to have the Network name Graphfixz.

Give all computers different names. This setting and the network setting should be relatively simple and around the same location/area.
