Does anyone know if a size 305/45/22 will rub on a 2002 QX4? I'm looking to buy some wheels and tires off someone for a good deal but just worried about rubbing issues in the front especially.

That all depends on the offset of the new wheels....
Use a wheel offset calculator to figure out what the inner and outer differences will be from what you are currently running.
(You should be able to find a few on google, just try entering "wheel offset calculator")

They definitely sound like they are going to rub. Most of the threads I have read around here, people consider 265 to about 275's. Check the wheel spacing like Ozzie said. And maybe try a little search around the forums, Im sure you'll find the information your looking for!

Good luck!

No do not get them, i have 265/45/20 tires on 20" by 9" wide rims for my spring/summer/fall set, and they are close to the struts in front, and clear my inner fenders when turning by about 1/4 - 3/8 of an inch, so they are basically perfect size.

305? are these 22 x 10s? or 11s?, if you throw these on, i dont even think 1 inch wheel spacers to push the wheel back will help. You wont even be able to mount them cause they will be interfering with the strut.

Along with all that, those will made your ride alot slower too since they probably weigh an easy 80 lbs each with the tires.

Fitment would be possible, even for me im lowered 2" but you need to know suspension geometry and know how to properly choose offsets, spacers, if you need to trim inner fender, etc.

Thanks for the tips guys! I ended up not buying those 305's and got a new set from the shop. 22" wheels on some 235/35/22 tires. They fit perfectly with about 1/2" clearance from the strut and do not rub the wheel well or fender when turning. I'll try and snap some pictures later today when I wash her up!
