-PROBLEM-
My current problem is that after putting the car together, it starts but it doesnt sound good, its louder then usual, as if the pistons are hitting the valves which i hope they aren't, and the engine shakes alot so most likey my timing is off
I tried adjusting the timing a few times now and i still cant get it to start right, i set it to the TDC(but just to make sure, the TDC is when the 1st piston is all the way up correct?) but from my point of view i think the rotation of the camshaft pulley/valves arent at its right rotation. Right now its at the TDC along and the valves are set to the compression stroke, but i dont know if the timing chain is set right, and even if the timing would be right, could it also be the problem if the oil pump and the distriputer aren't set right?
It would help alot, i really need to get the car starting because of work and it has been sitting on my driveway since Feb
If you look where the water pump is, you'll see the hole

Would it make a difference if i adjusted the timing chain to the mark as shown?
