need help with timing

so i followed this diy http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=161707 and it doesnt work any more tips on how to time the distributor ?

when ever i put it on tdc on the pully the cap wont line up with the rotor so im confused and need some help or tips

if is not off by much then adjust the distributor by first lossen the bolts holding it down then twst it so it lines up and bolt it back on.

if its off by alot take the distributor out and turn it so its close to the wat it is then put it back and adjust.

on my single cam i have to take the oil pick-up out to adjust and i am still off by a tooth so i need to adjust mine too.
