im getting a good deal on an sr20 but its engine and transmission only (no ecu or wire harness) ive heard that i can run that motor with my dohc ecu and wire harness, also that i have to convert from coil packs to a distributor. if so has neone else used this set up to run their sr and how good was it??????

thanks

I didn't go through that route, but I went with the regular route where you use the sr ecu and harness...I believe that way is easier and not as difficult and time consuming as you using your ka ecu and harness. How much did you get it for?

Good now spend the extra (if there is any) money on an ECU and harness. Sell your DOHC computer and harness its probably worth at least half the SR stuff. Remember the KA wasnt tuned the same as the SR so the KA may mess with alot of things.

Im not sure but you could talk to the people at JWT and see if they can reprogram the KA ecu for SR duties.

Thats a lil spendy for just the motor and transmission, getting your wires/ecu remammed can be done through JWT but its very expensive, watch out for motors with missing parts because you could end up spending alot more, mising CAS, MAF, stuff like that, it will just add up. I was origionaly going to go that way, i found a motor and transmission that needed a wireing harness, ecu, ignitor chip, MAF, it ended up not bein with it, so i found a complete swap on ebay, my car runs great and for alot less money than it would have cost
