Ok, I searched and read the faq on 240sx.org, but my system whines. I just got done installing new ground, power wire, RCA cables, and it still whines. I have the power wire and the RCA cables on seperate sides of the car. To turn my amp on though I use a switch my remote wire on the CD player itself is broke. The switch for the amp goes directly from the battery, to the switch, to the amp. Could this be a problem? Any help greatly appreciated. Amp ground wire is grounded to the chassis in the trunk. Probably about 5 inch long wire. Thanks!

This should be in the audio section. You'd prolly get a much better response in there. PMQ will prolly chime in sometime soon too since he seems to be the audio guru around here.

So, you mean you are using 2 12volt power wires and one ground? You should find a way to get your remote wire fixed. If you can, just solder on a new wire, cause you're gonna end up frying your amp and/or draining your battery.

Ok, fixed it! Ground loop isolator. I got it at Best Buy for like $15. Plug one end to your stereo, then the other end you plug your RCA cables in, it is like a filter I guess. No more noise though!
