As someone who has dealt with a ton of cranks, I can tell the quality of a crank when I buy one. However, there is nothing wrong with having a shop check it for you.
As for bearings, so long as no machining is required, you can match up the numbers on your crank to the numbers of your block/rods and order bearings from Nissan.
