need help with speedometer..

I put a new transmission onto my sr.. and everything was fine for about a week. then the speedometer started going off.. it comes on and off whenever it wants.. may it be a loose wire in the back of the cluster?? or is it then speed sensor??

Check the flexible pc board on the back of the cluster, scuff the copper contact with some fine sandpaper and build up material on the back side to make a stronger connection between the plug and the board...that is what happened to mine.
