fuel pump took a crap on me the other day a few miles from my house. I've been skeptical about it for some time so i wasn't surprised when I lost fuel pressure, got it towed home and started trouble shooting. Fuse is not blown but i'm pretty sure it should have the left side terminal looks burnt (fuse box terminal, not fuse itself) and is shorted to ground. 64.6 ohms between the + and - leads for pump on harness side, so shorted there but with a $hit load of extra resistance. I replaced the pump even though it ohmed out ok, because it's super old and with a jumper battery right to the terminals it just barely worked. I pulled all the carpet and panels up to the driver side kick panel fuse box and started looking for shorts, between connectors. I have it narrowed down to one of the black/yellow wires coming off the relay. The one goes to another huge connector then back to the pump and is just fine, the other dissapears up under the dash and thats the one with 60 or so ohms resistance. Does anyone know where that second black/yellow wire goes. I've searched the fsm and it looks like it ties to the iacv so i'm thinking i can cut it and be ok but i'm not 100% thats where it leads.

so my plan for now is to run a new in line fuse from a switched hot to the black/white wires going to the pump relay. And i need some suggestions for the black/yeallow wire. This is an s14 by the way 95' If anyone has a good wireing diagram with wire colors, connectors, fuses and relays that would also be a huge help. thanks

nevermind, I finally found a spec for the IAVC and it's exactly what i was reading through the fuel pump wireing. So i guess it is supposed to read that way. Would have been nice to know before ripping half the interior apart but o well.Anyway I ran a new in line fuse on a different switched 12 volt circuit and tied that to the fuel pump relay hot wires, and now it works beautifully.
