Hi guys, I'm new here and I have a 1995 240sx with the 6 speaker system. Now I have in my room an Alpine headunit and an Alpine 4 channel amplifier. I searched on NICO and found that there is an stock amp bypass? So my question is can I completely remove the stock amps and replace it with the alpine one? If I can how would I go about doing this?Thank you

Yes, trace the wires, find the amp, remove it, leave only the pos+neg on each side for your new amp/crossover/speaker whatever. Or run completely new wire.

There are several topics on the exacts if you get lost, it's called SEARCH .

Welcome to the forums.

ok I have read the topic before about removing the stock amp but I didnt know if I could follow the same instructions for removing the old and installing the new one; I guess thats what I was trying to ask.

Also can I use the same pos. & neg. or should I get one of those amp install kit?

Sorry for all the questions I usually dont do any stereo upgrades but my headunit is all messed up and two of my speaker are blown so I figured I might as well upgrade some things.Thanks alot guys

I must admit that I don't fully understand the question, but let me see if I can help. You probably know most of the below, but I am covering all bases.

If you hade a new dedicated head unit and a new dedicated 4 channel amp with a 6 speaker system, then there is a problem. Generally, you should not run 6 speakers directly from a 4 channel amp... unless there is a crossover that takes care of 2 sets of speakers (components).

Generally if you have a dedicated amp, you will have to run;

Head unit --(low level signal)-->Amp--(speaker level)-->speakers

So if you are reusing the existing lines, your amp could theoretically replace the Nissan amp with yours and run the corresponding low level wires to your amp and the correct speaker level wires to your speakers.

In order to figure out which wires go to where, this might help some;http://installdr.com/InstallDo...5.pdf

Unfortunately, what I don't have and you definetly need an idenftification of each color wire. For that you will have to do the search.

yeah thats what I wanted to know if having a new headunit and a 4 channel amp with the 6 speaker sytem would cause a problem. Thanks for clearing that up

So can I get away with buying a component set for the front (to replace the tweeter and stock 6.5 inch speaker) and just buying normal rear speakers?because my neighbor says I should just get two sets of components (one for the front and one for the rear) but I didnt really want to spend too much money and also wanted a different opinion.

Yes, components would probably take care of what you need.
