Alright, I have the Drift Bible (borrowing it) and I only have one disc drive ( NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A ). I havent gotten around to using it and I have 4 brand new dvd-rw discs ready to go.

The problem: I dont have a program, or know how to rip from the DVD to my hard drive and onto a dvd-rw. I've dl'ed like 2 programs and was unsuccessful at doing what I wanted to do.I dl'ed these progs from http://www.download.com and they were only trial versions. Yeah I'm an idiot.

Anyone car to point me in the right direction as to which program I should use/dl with instructions:) Or, anyone care to be a doll and let me borrow one of you alls programs;)

Help would be appreciated.

you need DVD Shrink 3.1

commercial DVD's are dual layer, and contain too much info to be transfered directly to dvdr.

also, the data is usually encrypted. the key is contained in the lead-in section, which doesnt get copied.

dvd shrink will cut the disc down to 4.7 GB by removing trailers, and only coping one format [16:9 or 4:3 i always use 16:9].

it will also remove the encryption and macrovision protection.

the aforementioned encryption is the reason why the movie wont directly transfer to the hard drive.
