Can someone give me step by step DIY instructions on replacing and removing leaking injectors. I have a 89 240sx. Please let me know everything I need to remove to get to the injectors and the best way to get them out and back in. I want to tackle this task on 08/08/04

thanks BrianAtlanta

ok, it is pretty easy

1: remove gas cap2: remove fuel pump fuse3: crank engine untill it dies4: remove fuel hoses going to fuel rail, label them so they dont get mixed up5: label the injector wires (1-4)remove the wires (you have to pull out a little metal clip) and the fuel lines6: remove the 2 bolts on the fuel rail7: remove injectors8: put new seals on all the new injectors and all injectors that were removed9: put some oil on the seals, then push them straight into the rail, not at an angle, and dont twist10: assemble everything back together, and turn the key to on a few times, make sure the fuel isnt leaking, then go ahead and start her up

Can someone let me know how to get the injectors out of the fuel rail and or they suppose to be removed from engine side first or the fuel rail side? I only will be replacing the first and last injectors. Once I remove the 2 bolts on the fuel rail will the injectors be acessible or will the rail need to be move totally out of the way.

thanks brian sorry for all the questions that are probably stupid

If you are planning on reusing old injectors after you pull them out be extreamly carful when doing it as they are very brittle, in many cases they are known to leak into the cyl once they have been pulled out and reassembled, We only recommend doing them as a set.

once you unbolt the rail and pull it out all 4 injectors will come out with it.

00, i think it just needs a tune up, when in N, it idles around 1k, but when in drive or reverse, it bogs to around 500-600

anyways, should this be broken off into another thread so as not to jack this one?

edit: the hood wont pop either...
