when i had my pass. side window broken i duct taped plastic on the outside. now i have all the sticky residue on the chrome strip on the bottom of the window sill. any thoughts on the best way to remove without scratching the chrome? i was thinking a cleaner wax but the residue seems way to thick, i'm afraid to scrape it off and ruin it.

Go to walmart or equal and get some stuff called "goo-gone"

WD-40 and gasoline also works good.

Agreed! Both "Goo Gone™" and "Goof Off™" are similar products and should do the trick very well. Although, I would be careful about getting it get too close to paint - it has not hurt car paint in my experience, but why take a risk?

When my Q was in the shop getting the music done over, I decided to remove the antenna motor including the mast and open it up to re-grease the unit. I used duct tape to cover up the antenna hole on the rear fender. The car was in the music shop for a week getting costomized work done in the trunk . When I got it back the duct tape residue was on the paint and felt like glue. I went down to the local parts store and bought a can of professional strength "Label & Sticker Remover", that's the name of it. This thing works awsome and it is safe for the paint. Now this is all I use if I need to get anything stickey out.
