I am new to the nissan 240sx. is there a web site that will give me a fast a removal guide with out going to a text book removal. The text book is long and I know that a good 240sx pro can do a engine swap within hrs. I am a NASCAR tech person but need a little help with the 240. ( Please be kind I searched the "search" button and no help their).

I don't know of place with that, but it turned out to be a lot easier than I thought when I had to do it. Just pull off all the wiring harness conections, exhaust manifold, intake, and radiator. Then unbolt the A/C and Pwer Steering from the block and ziptie them to the side of the engine bay so you don't have to remove them. Take off the interior trim piece and shifter. Then I find it easier to just separate the driveshaft in the middle and pull the transmission with the engine. Make sure you drain transmission oil, and coolant before starting though. Hope that might help if no one knows of a guide.

DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST.

remove the two motor mount nuts/bolts (both 14mm). both are located under the intake and exhaust manifolds. then remove the 4 transmission bolts that mount the transmission to the chassis. also, remove the slave cylinder at the right side of the transmission (passenger side). remove the radiator and shroud. remove driveshaft, and remove shifter from inside the car (held down by a snap ring)

remove entire wiring harness. just whatever clips that connect to the engine, remove them. same goes for AC and all the hydraulic lines (like power steering and stuff).

drain all the fluids, wrap the chain evenly around the intake and exhaust manifolds without pinching any wires and hose (especially fuel lines) and then slowly lift the engine up. a good tip is to lift one lift at a time, then pull back twice. if u have a friend have him get under there and guide the transmission.

BAM ur done. if u do this many times, ull get the engine out by yourself in less than half an hour. its really easy. and if u have a friend, itll take damn near half the time. really simple stuff!

welcome fellow delawarian lol... unplugg all the harness, lines... find 2 good spots to bolt up a chain... take out the bolts on the motor mount, take off the transmission mount... and slowly work it out with a cherry picker. its pretty straight forward....
