Hopefully these are "small" problems and are easy to fix. We have a 2004 Nissan Armada LE and the rear sonar quite out on us awhile back and the liftgate will open weakly and will only close if we slightly push it down with our hand. There is no profound damage to the rear bumper and the liftgate is damage free.

We don't truly want to go to the dealer because our warranty is up and they cost a fortune. Has anyone had/has these problems and know how to fix these? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

If you're up to it, just go through the troubleshooting steps outlined in the FSM:

Once you figure out the problem, you'll know exactly what you need to repair/replace. Worst case, you'll at least be able to see how much work it needs and then you can decide if its something you can tackle or should take to the dealer for.

This looks extremely helpful but the only problem is that I don't quite know what I'm looking for. I have no mechanical experience so I was just trying to pinpoint the problem. Thanks alot! I'll try to keep looking thru the link.

You'll have to find the section dealing with the sonar system. Once you do that, you chould be able to locate a troubleshooting guide. It will take you step by step through a process of elimination method of determining the problem and then tell you the solution. It may require that you have a multimeter to test electrical signals.
