I am new to this site. i am having a lot of problems with my 240. it is an 89, 5 speed. I think i might have an axle problem , but i could be completely wrong. two things happen, which might not even be related. First when i am in first or second gear and make a sharp turn it seems that one of my back tires skips. like it locks up on me. also when i am in a low gear and try to accelerate fast it again feels like one of my tires locks up and holds my car back. any help would be greatly appreciated. ~Missy~

wow thats a tough one...i strongly doubt its your axle...it sound like the problem may be in your diff... your diff may be locking up on you...have someone or check the fluid yourself...if you find alot of metal shaving...bingo...BLOWN DIFF!

when i say alot of metal shavings...I MEAN ALOT! like chunks of metal... but it sounds to me that your diff is locking up... because if it was your axle...youd hear it clicking, and if it snaps...i strongly doubt you would be moving... let me know how it goes...because i could be completley wrong!

Thanks for the help. I'm gonna check in when i wake up in the morning. I didn't even think to check the fluids in the rear. I'll let you know what i find.
