In a few weeks or so i want to do a RB25DET swap in my s13 and i really dont want to spend lots of $ on mckinney mount kit, instead i was looking through ebay and found some. but i cant really decide which ones i should go with. they are all around $200-300. the way i see it, i think #3 is pretty good considering that with the nismo one the hood will need to be cut. Please Help, also please post any mounting kits that you would recommend but are not $600 Thanks

Twohttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

Threehttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

Four ( i asked the dude a question and he told me that the hood wont clear with the engine)http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

first of all these are all just brackets so youll still have to buy the mounts unless you use your stockers, second with any of the three you posted there is still alot of work you have to do to get them to fit right (power steering lines, drilling and grinding) and then you have to beat the hell out the firewall to get the starter to clear and to get the transmission to fit in the tunnel you can get the mckinney painted not powder coated for 450 they come with mounts and alot easier to install

If you can't afford $600 than you've decided on the wrong engine to swap.

At least buy from more reputable sellers. Those guys selling the brackets all have pretty terrible feedback. Try phase2 or enjuku

i used the zerolift/ruckus racing mounts with my rb25 and i had absolutelyno issues. steering lines fit perfect, no drilling, all i had to do was grind the lil nipples off my stock motor mounts.(took ten seconds)u have to beat in the firewall for every rb swap no matter what.my hood closes, my swaybar clears, it sits about as far back as u can get it, shifter is perfectly centered.

i would reccommend the ruckus/ zerolift mounts to anyone.
Thanks a lot for your response. this is exactly what i was looking for . unlike others telling me that if i cant afford the same mounts for $400 more than i decided on the wrong swap

From what i have seen, the mounts were redesigned to be compatible with both Nismo / stock and other similarly dimensioned aftermarket mounts.

That 2nd link you posted is a cheap copy of the Zerolift mounts.

The first link are the Core Performance mounts which were sold by TopHat.

The second link is the Core Performance mounts without the isolators. BTW the isolators can be had at NAPA for $6 each. I believe they are for some 90's Buick or GM car.

The third link is for Ruckus Racing mounts. Ruckus bought the rights from TopHat to copy their mounts and Ruckus fabricates them out of thicker steel which was entirely necessary.

The fourth link is just for upgraded RB25DET mounts in an R33 chassis. It is not a mount adapter kit.

In the process of doing a RB swapwhen you say isolators you mean hockey puts right and if so why not just use some stock ka24de mounts

No, I mean actual isolators that absorb engine and drivetrain vibrations. One may use hockey pucks for isolators, but I'd prefer my own urethane isolators over hockey pucks. This is actually on my winter list of things to do, but I expect the chassis to vibrate noticeably afterwards.

As far as using stock KA mounts, I don't think the mount kits are drilled for the two bolts on the mounts. I guess the mounts could be modified for someone who really had a hard-on for KA mounts.
