maybe somebody can help me......something is wrong w my rb20det on my s13 coupe....is overheating after 20 mints of drive.....higuest i got today was 210....after i did a full radiator and block flush.....everything looked clean n i was positive was gonna work.....anyway this started after i bought the car(week ago) and previous owner installed a new 2 core radiator(since the other one broke after i test drove it for 3 miles)...and his set up consist on a reverse single electric fan on back of radiator.....i took also the thermostat out ....i put a reservoir tank, new rad cap and change upper rad hose ....my friend told me i should get a bigger radiator (4 core)but im trying everything before buying it to make sure is that.....

should i go ahead and put the fan in front of radiator or just get a 3 or 4 core rad....???

im new with turbo engines.......so ill appreciate the help......

thanx

overheating all the time? Mainly at stops? only when boosting? we need more info. Are you running the just the one fan? You need to run two quality fans or the stock fan clutch setup. Did you try bleeding the coolant system. Rb loves to hold air in the system. Park the car on a hill and open the radiator cap squeeze the hose a couple times to help get the air pockets out and break loose the bleeder screw on the intake manifold. Are both coolant hoses hot to touch. report back with more info and try search there are probably 100 overheating issue threads.

A cheapy fan isn't going to cut it. You need some good quality fans that move alot of air. You also might want to bleed the system of air. That bolt at the lower right part of the pic is the bleeder.

Must be the fans. Fal puller fans were good to me, kept my heat down even if they were running all the time. My car never overheated.

Running a fan on all the time is a bad idea. Mainly it will pull alot of amps all the time straining the alternator. That will cause other issue for the coils and injectors etc. Get the fal/flex-a-lite fans with some kind of controller or switch and be done with it. Your engine will think you in the long run.

[IMG][/IMG] It is the little vents right below the hood. You can kinda see my fan threw the holes.
