ok im gettin new pistons and i have a choice of gettin 8.5:1 or 9:1. I know that stock is 8.5:1 but itll have more lag in the low end compared to 9:1. also i hear that if i run 9:1 pistons i wouldnt be able to boost high. im only looking to boost 12psi.

any more info on either piston(pros, cons) will help in my decision.

thanks

I would recomend a tune if you are going to be running that boost on 9:5:1 compression.... I use 8:5:1 .20 over bore and the power is pretty instant

Between 8.5:1 and 9:1 you won't see a major difference between low end torque on these motors. Nor will you see a boost ceiling on the top end. So long as you have a good fuel tune, you should be good to go.
