Today while I was driving I noticed that my car was feeling kind of sluggish. When I pushed down on my accelerator to speed up it seemed as if my car was lacking power because it took a while for the car to reach a certain speed. Unlike my mom's malibu I can feel how quickly the car responds when I push the gas, but with my 240 it feels sluggish. What can I do to improve the performance as well as the response of my car? I have a 92' 240sx fastback with 110,000 miles.

thanks in advance...

a good tune-up with oem plugs, wires, cap and rotor wouldnt hurt. try unplugging your o2 sensor and see if performance gets better. also, check ignition timing.

How much would the cap and rotor cost, and would someone with no knowledge of fixing the cap and rotor be able to do it? Also, how would you go about checking the ignition timing?

thanks in advance...

cap and rotor are like $25 from dealership. you need a phillips head screwdriver and a ratchet with 8mm socket.

cake!

It's a 10mm socket for the distributor, but you don't have to remove the distributor bolts to change the cap and rotor.

yeah, the rotor is held on by a 8mm bolt. my bad, that was not too clear.
