first things first. greetings nico club
so.. i had recently traded my track CRX for a 89 240sx coupe with a silvia k's front end. such a good deal if i say so myself. clean title. complete CLEAN interior. no cracks on the dash and brand new carpet. everything works on the car. power windows. power sunroof. power locks. brand new brakes. front end is very clean. lowered on springs. battery relocated. engine bay was sprayed gloss black. and completely cleaned out.
the previous owner stated that they bought the car brand new and has been a family car ever since. the stock engine has gone bad (ka24e) and so he rebuilt a (ka24de) and swapped it. everything is brand new on the car pretty much. i couldnt let this deal pass up.
but the car wasnt running.
he claimed the MAF was bad and the ignition timing was off.i looked over everything. cranked it a few times and got it to start. but would only stay on for 4 seconds at 1500 rpm and drown. it kept flooding.
cleaned the cylinders out and got it to start and hold idle. drove it home and that was that. it ran like **** cuz im guessing a MAF malfunction. no problem right? just replace and your good.
still more problems. i go to crank the car and it wil fire but not hold idle. i managed to get it to fire and sit at 500 rpm.. WOT!!! misfiring and everything.
i inspected the plugs. plugs were charred black so it was definately misfiring. i replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor and fuel filter.
taking it back to basics.. i have everything correct to have a workin engine:
FUEL
AIR
COMPRESSION [220 through all cylinders]
and SPARK.
assembled everything back together.. and cranked the engine. no fire. no start up.
inspected the plus once more.. flooded. and it stays flooded. -_-
i dont know wat to do anymore.
i seem to have run out of ideas on what can be my problem..
im convinced its faulty wiring as the ECU harness connector looks to be spliced to the KA24E harness.
would anyone happen to have diagrams and color coding to single cam to dual cam swaps???
thanks for any future help.. and happy thanks giving
