I have posted about this before but it has been a while....

Little Background....Bought it from a friend that wrecked the front right. Airbags didn't eject or anything. Car was running after accident but when my friend checked on the other driver and cut it off, it would'nt crank back up. As of now the car has no spark, and i can not hear the fuel pump come on. When i turn the key to acc, the airbag light blinks. But i know for a fact that will not prevent the car from starting. I really need this car running so i can down the 240 to drop the transmission out. Thanks for the help in advance.

Did you check the fuse for the fuel pump? Sounds like a harness was shorted or otherwise damaged.

sorry....all fuses checked. 2.2L 97 Automatic.

I am getting power going into the fuse under the hood (50amp) for fuel pump...I read in the book that if low oil pressure is sensed by the computer it will cut the fuel pump. But how do i reset it if that happened? Anyone know how to pull codes on this dumbestic?

You used to be able to ground one of the terminals in GM connectors to count CEL flashes but I dont know if they still have that in 97. The oil pressure switch is a three wire sensor in an oil jacket that cuts the fuel pump and another circuit. I was thinking that last night but wasnt sure how new you car was. If you can find that switch you can unplug it and reconnect it to see if it starts. Also the key on alot of GMs are programed to prevent theft. If your key has a black dot near the begining of the tumbler portion of the key at the base of the head of the key it has that system. If it does have that the key you are using was the original key he used right?

i looked for the oil switch but i did not find it...i will try again tomorrow. Yes the key i have is the original and the only key he ever used. So you think the oil pressure may be the culprit?

dont you mean today?? I will have a look at our service resources today and see if I can locate it on your car. Not sure I will cause our source sucks. Mitchell ondemand is what we use and it has been to date very unpleasant to use.
