I just purchased a 1994 q45 over a few weeks ago. And this morning it started giving me a hard time to stay on. It would stay on for less than 10 seconds then it would shut off. My rpm was starting to drop down while it was idling , Then it would shut off.

Do anyone have an idea what the problem might be? I was wondering if it's the fuel filter. But i really am not sure if that is my problem. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can help me with this problem.

Also i am new to this forum, So i am not sure if i posted this in the right section.

Thanks

Welcome to NICO! You have arrived at the right place.

Where are you located so we can know the climate?

Here's a link to a thread about Fuel Pressure testing.

:welcome: to NICO!

I agree with starting out with checking the fuel pressure. Have you had a "hive of bees" sound behind your back seat - especially at idle with less than 1/2 a tank of gas? That's the usual sign of a worn fuel pump. When they fail they typically take out the fuel pump control unit due to the excessive current draw.

Good luck!

Welcome to NICO!! I second the fuel pressure testing. Report back and that will give us something to go from.

I would also recommend checking the MAF (Air flow sensor) and it's wires. Mine was doing the same and the ECU gave me code 12 which is for MAF.
