need help with lifters..

I have a s13 sr20det blacktop in my 91 240sx coupe. I took my engine apart due to bad bearings. I want to bleed my lifters but I cant seem to take them out of the head. do i need some kind of special tool? can someone help me with this? -kt-

once the rocker arms are out you can just pull the lifters straight up. sometimes you have to grab them (gently) with a pair of pliers.

I tried pulling them out but it doesnt seem to work. tried to pull out with pliers also.. but still wont budge. so im stuck..

Pull at a different angle. It can be difficult to pull if you don't pull it straight out, it's offset a few degrees from 90 if you look at it after you've pulled em.
