Yes make sure the one you are ordering is a transponder key which will need to be programmed by either the dealer i have a 02 pathfinder they charged me 80buks for that crap. Or I also have been hearing that there are some locks smiths as well that are capable of doing this! W/out this being done car key wont be of much use other than a paper weight lol (car wont start) w/out the programming.Rigorozco wrote:Alright so when I bought my QX4 it only came with two keys, the valet and wallet/emergency keys and the master key was missing. I was wondering if the master key and the emergency key are the same thing. I ordered a blank master key and I was planning on cutting it the same as the emergency key. Also my car is a 1998 QX4 and I'm not sure if it has a transponder chip key as the one that I am ordering does.

How is the valet key different from the master key?Rigorozco wrote:Alright so when I bought my QX4 it only came with two keys, the valet and wallet/emergency keys and the master key was missing. Usually the valet key opens the doors and starts the vehicle, but you can't unlock the glove box (or trunk, in the case of cars).Chuck Tribolet wrote:How is the valet key different from the master key?Rigorozco wrote:Alright so when I bought my QX4 it only came with two keys, the valet and wallet/emergency keys and the master key was missing.
