Okay, I know the subject has been beat to death thus far, but its a good question. I have a 2000 Infiniti I30 and am looking to put an intake on it. My problem is, will if mess with my computer? I have had the car for around 2 weeks and already the engine light came on twice and I had to replace the thermostat and MAF sensor. So i'm weary abouty potential changes to my fuel/air ratio. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Intake shouldn't cause any issues unless you use an oiled filter, which can potentially gum up the MAF's metering element.

Yes the 311 in my user name is for the band. And the codes were run at my buddy's shop on the OBD II first as the thermostat (I forget which code) and two days later as the MAF sensor P0171. I replaced both the MAF and the thermostat and it runs fine but I dont want it to go haywire again.

Just an intake wont hurt your computer...but like it was said above, if you coat a filter in oil, it can hurt your MAF.
