I'm trying to do a head gasket replacement on a 1995 d21 Ka24e engine and i cant get the intake manifold off. i've removed
every bolt and most of the hoses and only one side is loose the other side is stuck. What am i missing?
ive done this before and i got stuck just like you. it took me awhile to figure it out. there is 2 bolts underneath the intake manifold that bolt it to the block. once you remove these the manifold should come right off. if you need photos i can post them just keep me posted.
Thanks for your quick reply but according to the fsm there are only 7 bolts connecting the intake manifold to the engine and i
have removed all 7 bolts if you could post pictures that would be helpful.
thanks again
if you took every every every bolt off you need to pry it apart because the gasket it holding it together but you better make sure you take everybolt off there before you go and pry at it i pulled mine a few times and on one of the heads it was stuck on there i had to pry it and came off with ease
i've tried hammering it and it didn't budge. It's only stuck at the front of the engine block and if the the fsm is correct there
are only 7 bolts holding it to the engine block and i've removed all 7 bolts and have removed the 2 bolts holding it to the manifold stay. so if hammering it didn't loosen it i don't want to jam a crowbar in there to pry it off and damage the manifold.
wait you broke it already so its only tight in the front?
if thats the case you have to play with it till you get it off
when i was taking mine off it got stuck in the back and the front came loose took me a good min to figure out that it has to slide off evenly if not the stud will keep it from coming off and you will mess up the threads on it so if the back is loose and the front is tight
i suggest you push the back on and pull it off together
