lots of measuring, a grease pencil to mark, lots of measuring, a drill, with bits ( small for screw holes and big for holes for inside the trunk so you can tighten the nuts) lots of measuring, in fact make sure to measure each hole you are drilling, from at least 4 different positions.and write down all the measurements so you have same numbers for each hole. that way you are exact about each hole and you don't install your wing all jacked up. in the past i have used 1/16 rubber sheet as in insulator beweet the trunk and the wing that way there is not metal on metal contact. again you can't measure too much. and then measure some more before you tighten anything. gook luck

Correction!!! my little friends....!!remember there is also the wangan thats "screwless"?? (sorry..) I dont know which one you have...like mine where the wing attaches to the hatch with double side tape and four little clamps on the side, using allen screws, no hole needed. But whichever kind you have and if somebody is doing it for you...Ensure that they are very detailed and meticuosly. I dont like the one where you gotta get all the holes because there is no turning back if you change your mind later. And also running the risk of rust or leaks on your hatch area....

About this double sided tape spoiler, I would think that it is unstable, and could just rip off at high speeds.

What are the pros and cons between the one where you have to drill holes, and one where you use double sided tape?

I knew it, yes you have the one that uses tape AND the metal clamps, if you look closely and the 4 vertical slots towards the center of the wing...2 on each side. Thats were the clamps are inserted and hold the wing to the hatch. DONT try to mount the wing without the clamps, or your wing will fly...If you dont have them, them build some out of aluminum, fairly simple process. I can post pics of mine and measurements if needed. You will also need to thread them and mount allen screws on them. Pros: no holes are required no leaks no rust if you get tired of it, you can uninstall later with no damage to the hatch. With the tape and clamps, is very sturdy and stable.

Cons:On the way yours is design, is kind of hard to keep the contact area of the wing clean, but if you keep your car relatively clean is no big issue.

Take the old tape off completely and buy the 3M tape and replace. Double check alignment with help from somebody else and grease pencil before you mount it....

Here are the measurements, just build the pieces, set them in place and then mark where the allen screws will go, then take it off and tap... it will be easier for you to verify where the holes are needed when the piece is on place. You can go with a size screw of your preference based on the size of the bracket. On the pic one side of the bracket is bent, dont pay attention to that. You can find the screws at Lowes and probably the material too.........

I'm putting a wangan wing on my S13 it looks fine on vaugn gittins drift car. My only question is how much downforce does a wangan wing produce? the design looks like it does produce downforce, that's why I wanna go with it, but looks can be decieving...

its a looks wing i think

i think coupe looks much better wingless, and the hatch pulls off the wangan and that version that amolao has but anything else it needs a body kit to look acceptable

YOu need 4 of these, and no dont tap the hatch!!! the screws go thru the bracket and make contact with the hatch without any holes on the hatch...the brackets that go toward the front of the hatch are kind of hard to slide in, look at the other pic I posted, and they need to fit really flush (the metal you use for this needs to be strong and thin...)so there is no contact with the body panels when the hatch is being open or closed.....

Honestly I dont think it produces any discernible forces, specially at the speeds used for "drifting"....maybe at higher speeds...I have mine for that "JDM tyte, Yo!" look, like you youngsters say....
