I just dropped a new engine in a 97 Pathfinder and there is an electrical connector I don't know what to do with.

It is a black wire with a small ring terminal on it (looks like a ground) and is on the same harness as the starter/alternator and is near the alternator.

It is circled in red here: http://www.hardknockracing.com...r.jpg

Any ideas?

Thanks

There was a ground wire mod a few years back. I'm not sure if it applied to the '97 but I did it on my '98. Basically an additional ground wire that runs from the ground cluster on the passenger side of the upper intake manifold to the front of the passenger side head and bolts to the head. Where that wire is hanging looks like where the ground mod would bolt to the head. Was this on the new engine? Or left over from your old one? Can you trace the wire?

Thanks for the reply :-)

This wire is part of the short harness that has the battery/starter/alternator connections and is from the original engine...it is not from the harness that goes into the interior, has the injectors, etc.
